Some Newish Work

Finished

I HAVE FINISHED MY DEGREE!!!

It's been three long and hard years, but i had my final exam today. I didn't hate my time at university by any means; i'm actually really sad it's over but i'm also relieved to have finished. Learning is the best thing, but exams, essays and that constant pressure isn't. Definitely bittersweet.

What to do, what to do?

Bengal Tiger

Here's something i started over a year, and never finished. I remember being very excited as it progressed, but eventually i hit a brick wall. In this case it was the girl on the Tiger's back. I just found her really difficult to draw. A temporary pause, just kind of became a permanent one. I still quite like it... so maybe i'll come back to it one day.

Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII

My first Final Fantasy artwork here on this blog! I'd love to do more, but i'm so pedantic about details, and Tetsuya Nomura's designs contain so much detail that it simply requires far too much effort to research his designs so i can recreate his characters accurately. Anyway, I went as far i could with this one, and, yes, she is missing her knuckle wear, and sword, but there was no way i was going to draw that!

Vega

Darkstalkers Entry

I didn't get into the Tribute book, so i'm a little disappointed. Seeing as i've never played a Darkstalkers game before, i guess it wouldn't have been right anyway since work should be from the 'fans'. I'm looking forward to seeing the book though, should be high caliber stuff.

So here's my failed entry:

Bison

Sagat

With this picture I wanted to challenge myself since i've always been bad with muscles. What better way to practice muscles than to paint the mountain of muscle himself? I definitely need more practice but having done it, it does reveal what deficiencies i have in anatomical knowledge.

Ryu... Again

I have a man-crush on Ryu, it's something i've known all along regardless of how much i deny it. Not long before SFIV's release now... Can't wait.

Kinetic

I wanted to practice drawing hands.

Feeling Old

Happy Chinese New Year (for Monday)

I thought i would post this up early.

Darkstalkers Tribute

I've finished my entry; i'm dying to post it somewhere, but my instincts tell me i'd better not.

Even though i didn't enter the first Street Fighter Tribute book contest, i was quite envious of those who made it in, so fingers crossed this time.

Merry Christmas

and a happy new year.

Chun Li

It's reading week for me, i thought i'd finish this before getting down to some hard essay writing.

The pen to my Intuos2 is dying on me, it keeps producing wobbly lines; to circumvent this, i've had to use the eraser tip which feels horribly inaccurate.

It Seems That We Are Screwed

The House of Representatives has rejected the Wall Street bail-out plan.

Let chaos ensue.

Adobe Hates Me

Creative Suite 4 has been announced, three weeks after i buy Photoshop CS3 Extended.

Ryu in the Wind

I love the canvas rotating tool in Painter, it makes sketching and, therefore, life so much easier.

Ryu, drawn on Painter IX and then coloured on PS CS3.
